Billionaire Mark Zuckerberg’s former college roommate, Samyr Laine, an Olympic Jumper for Haiti, wants Mark’s help. Laine is preparing to launch an organization called Jump For Haiti Foundation that, through training camps and clinics, will build a new generation of home-grown athletes to compete at future Olympic competitions.
Laine is hoping his old roommate will contribute to his foundation. “I will talk to him and I will talk to all of my friends,” Laine said. “I am not going to ask him for any more than my other friends. But I hope his heart will move him. Having him behind the foundation would be a great, great help.” Laine supported Zuckerberg as he built Facebook; in fact, he was the 14th person to join Facebook before its popularity surged globally.
